Experience:

2008/2009 Royal Albert Hall ‘Tosca New Writing Project’ and 'Carmen New Writing Project' – Developing and running a writing workshop for ex-offenders from Edmonton’s Youth Offending Team’s list and The Irish Traveller Womens' Group in Ealing. Breaking down and re-working the operas into a half hour contemporary play written by the young people. The production was then performed as a rehearsed reading at the Royal Albert Hall, directed by Phil Daniels.  

2007 National youth Theatre WRITER/CO-DIRECTOR ID1000 Heritage based project with young people aged 13 – 21 to devise a show over three weeks based on personal and geographical heritage. Looking at identity and what it means to be British in today’s multicultural environment.

2005 – present GLYPT – Greenwich and Lewisham Young People’s Theatre WORKSHOP LEADER/CONSULTANT: running and devising TiE projects in and around SE London. ‘Writing for Performance’ leader for Summer Arts College,writer for the 14+ play ‘PAYBACK’ in 2007.   Currently teaching 14+ group, and working on 'SPEAK OUT' speech therapy project.

1997 - present Spanner in the Works (Production / Workshop Company) - ARTISTIC DIRECTOR: Small scale productions and drama based educational workshops in schools, hospitals and museums. These have included the adolescent psychiatric unit at Guy’s, TS2K, Evelina Hospital school and the Livesey Museum. CD and film projects.   Current projects include the Riverscross soap opera project, a full scale professional TV soap created by young people at the Snowsfileds Unit at Guy's Hospital.

1996 - present Freelance Drama Workshop Leader - on theatre technique, text analysis, acting, directing, writing, devising and stage fighting. GCSE, A level and Degree standard. Also curriculum based subjects for younger children, devised performances for schools and colleges. Dartford Youth Theatre co-ordinator and workshop leader (2003/4).   These have included running workshops or being a consultant for companies such as The London Bubble, Greenwich and Lewisham Young Peoples' Theatre and The Half Moon.

1991 - present Freelance Writer - Predominantly scripts and screenplays. Range of work includes feature and short films, adaptations, full scale musicals and television (BBC). Most recent work includes ‘BOOM’, a community play for 45 actors. Screenplay We Can Be Heroes was shortlisted for the Carl Foreman Award at BAFTA. Finalist in the BBC ‘Talent - Drama Writers’ scheme. Also writes for Radio and works as freelance script consultant, including scemes like Make Your Mark in Film and Sci-Fi India.   (See writing CV).

2003 – 2005 CARE Partnership (Charlton Athletic Racial Equality) CARE TRAINER: Delivering drama workshops in schools and communities within the London Borough of Greenwich.

1999 - 2005 Bexley London Borough /Arts Council - CO- DIRECTOR, environmental projects for Thamesmead primary schools. Director - Youth Theatre ‘Primary Colours’ project for 7 - 11 year olds. Co- director - ‘Landmarks’, production at The Millennium Dome and at the Danson Millennium Festival. Director of devised theatre project for HM The Queen’s visit to the borough, with 16 – 18 year olds.

2000/2001 Whatever Pictures/In-Movies.com - WRITER/DIRECTOR - ‘The Race’, ‘It Is’ Radical Art Advertisements.

1998 Eastside Productions - WORKSHOP LEADER, Page to the Stage (National Youth and Music Theatre).

1998 + Writer’s Guild of Great Britain - EDITOR, Guild Network.. Currently regular contributor to ‘UK Writer’ Magazine for Guild.

1997 - 1998 Futures Theatre Company (TiE) - WORKSHOP LEADER.

1996 - 1997 Undiscovered Productions (TiE, Theatre and educational workshops) - CO-PRODUCER/WORKSHOP LEADER. These included workshops on Balinese Culture, The Ramayana and the Kacak.
